Coordination/Support of Transit and Transit Agencies
Survey consists of responses from 33 transit agencies in the U.S. and Canada to obtain the opinion of transit professionals on the coordination and support between transit agencies and other transportation agencies in their metropolitan area. Questions/topics include:
· How do you view the present general level of coordination with and support of transit and your transit agency by the professional staff (e.g., traffic engineers) of cities and counties in your service area?
· How do you view the present general level of coordination with and support of transit and your transit agency by the elected officials of cities and counties in your service area?
· How do you view the present general level of coordination with and support of transit and your transit agency by the professional staff of the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for your service area?
· How do you view the present general level of coordination with and support of transit and your transit agency by the elected officials (e.g., the board) of the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for your service area?
· How do you view the present general level of coordination with and support of transit and your transit agency by the professional staff (e.g., traffic engineers) of the state department of transportation’s divisional/regional office in your service area?
· How do you view the present general level of coordination with and support of transit and your transit agency by the elected officials (e.g., commission, board) of your state department of transportation?
· How do you view the level of coordination and support from the professional staff (e.g., traffic engineers) of your local cities and counties when placing and improving bus stops along city/county roads?
· How do you view the level of coordination and support from the professional staff (e.g., traffic engineers) of your local cities and counties when trying to implement or implementing traffic signal preemption for transit buses along city/county roads?
· How do you view the level of coordination and sup port from the professional staff (e.g., traffic engineers) of your local cities and counties when trying to improve pedestrian and bicycle access to bus stops along city/county roads?
· How do you view the present general level of coordination with and support of transit and your transit agency by the professional staff (e.g., traffic engineers) of the state department when trying to implement and/or implementing facilities (e.g., park-and-ride, bus stops) on state roads?
· How do you view the level of coordination and support from the professional staff of your MPO when trying to provide for transit facilities (e.g., right of way, dedicated lanes, transit-oriented development) in the longer term?
